Never hand over the keys without proof.
Send one link. Your hirer proves their ID, hands you a DVLA share code to check, signs and puts up the deposit before they arrive. You keep one sealed record of the whole hire, and the money never touches us: the deposit is a hold on your own Stripe.

Illustrative record. Not a real hirer.
- Your carBooked in the chat you already sell in
- Your hirerIdentity verified, DVLA share code in hand
- Your handoverAgreement signed and sealed, nine photos on record
- Your returnThe same nine again, side by side
- Your proofOne timestamped record, ready for your insurer
One link before they arrive. One record when it is over.
Keep the WhatsApp. Keep the Instagram. Keep the cars. Add the proof. Then manage bookings, verify hirers, document every handover and keep your fleet compliant, all in one place.
Before they arrive
Drop one link in the chat. It collects their name, date of birth and address, matches their photo ID to a live selfie, and takes a DVLA share code you can check. They sign your agreement and the deposit goes up on your own Stripe.
At handover
Photograph the car together. A named set of nine shots, timestamped, lands on the record while you are both stood by it, and the car cannot be marked out until the set is complete.
At return
The same nine shots run again and the hire seals shut, so a kerbed alloy is a side-by-side comparison. A notice arriving five weeks later meets one dated record, not a camera roll.
What you are left with
The record says what it does not have.
Every printed pack opens with a register: each check marked on record, not on record, or not due yet, with the gaps counted at the top. A thin record cannot pass as a full one, which is what makes a full one worth anything.
Four things worth saying plainly
They collect and hold the document and the selfie as the regulated provider. KeyProof only ever stores the result. Live on every hirer link.
Held on your own Stripe, settled to your own bank. KeyProof never touches the money.
That call is always yours. KeyProof records the before and the after, and never scores it.
A £4.99 verification fee sits on their booking, not on your bill.
And it changes what you sound like
This is the half nobody mentions. Your hirer is already deciding whether you look like a proper business, and they decide it in the chat, before they ever see the car. “You’ll get a secure link to verify before you collect” is a sentence a serious company says. “Send me a photo of your licence” is not, and you are saying one of them either way.
It previews in the chat as your firm’s own secure check-in, not as a bare link a stranger has to trust.
Put it in the listing, put it in the bio, say it on the phone. It is true on every hire or it is true on none, and it is true on every hire.
Nobody is being singled out when it is simply how the handover runs, which is what makes it possible to turn a booking down.
It starts with proof, then runs everything around it. Most rental software starts at the calendar and adds paperwork after. KeyProof began at the proof and grew the diary, the money and the records around it, which is the difference the day a hire goes wrong.
This is what you open every morning.
Photographed from the app itself, not mocked up: the actual operator app, the same build a firm runs once it signs. A calendar per car with a clash guard, MOT and insurance dates, invoices, deposits and mileage, profit per car, fines matched to the hire. Every tier gets all of it.

BMW M4 Competition due back, with Check it in beside it. The job that cannot wait is already at the top.
Cars out 5 of 8, one return already overdue, the hirers yet to finish their links, and what is still owed. That is the morning.
The overdue hire sits in a queue with Log return and Remind on it. You are told the next action, not left to find it.
- Bookings
- The diary, a calendar per car, and every hirer you have had.
- Fleet
- Vehicles, maintenance, and the compliance dates that fall due.
- Money
- Deposits, expenses and reports, with profit per car.
- Records
- The sealed record of each hire, its fines and any claim.
Demo Car Hire is not a customer: no firm has signed KeyProof yet. See the rest of it, or run the hirer check-in yourself.
Get in now
and the price never moves.
A founding cohort of five firms, then the standard tiers. No contract, cancel any time. KeyProof never holds your money: deposits and payments settle to your own bank on your own Stripe, whether you collect them or KeyProof does.
Almost every camera-issued penalty lands on you first, because the logbook does, and moving one to the hirer needs a real name and address, a signed agreement and the dates, which the record already holds. The arithmetic is on the pricing page. The rarer case, a hirer who crashes your car and stops answering, is one of the four ways firms get taken.
Locked for life, any fleet size, every feature
After the cohort: £69 to 10 cars, £119 to 25, £179 to 60. No setup fee, 30 days free on every plan, and 2 months free if you pay for the year up front.
Your hirers pay £4.99 each for the checks, so verification costs you nothing per hire.
Send your vehicle registrations and the hire agreement you already use. We set the account up, load your fleet, and run through your first hire with you on the phone. There are two of us and no customers yet, which is exactly why we can do this and a company with a support queue cannot.
Send your cars on WhatsAppOpens WhatsApp with your message started. No form, no account, and you are not claiming anything.“My customers won’t do all that”
They will, because there is almost nothing to do. You paste one link into the same chat you already sell in, and your hirer opens it on the phone in their hand. No app to install, no account to make, and it is all finished before they turn up for the keys.
Instagram, WhatsApp or a text. They tap it and follow the steps.
It opens in their browser. Nothing to install, nothing to remember.
ID, licence, signature and deposit are all cleared ahead of the handover, not at your counter.
A hirer who will not prove who they are is the hire you most wanted to stop.
It is one line on their booking, beside a deposit and a day rate many times larger. And it buys them something too: the photographs that prove what they did also prove what they did not, which is their best defence against a charge for damage they did not cause.
Prestige and standard together, one or two people doing every handover. Running supercars or prestige? The full evidence treatment on every hire.
If you pay fines because you cannot prove who was driving, that is the problem this was built around.
What it is not. KeyProof does not contact an authority, submit a nomination or give legal advice. The five founding firms get in before anyone, lock the price for life, and get what they ask for built first. Going first is the whole point of the founding price.
