Supercar hire verification

Six figures of car, a renter from a DM. Verify before the keys move.

A supercar hire concentrates everything that can go wrong with hire into one handover: the highest value, the highest excess, and the strongest incentive for the person collecting to be somebody else. KeyProof verifies who is taking the car, records the checks, and insists on a fuller evidence set before a prestige car goes out, all through one link in the chat the booking came from.

From £59 a month for up to 5 carsThe renter pays the £4.99 verification feeNo contract, 30 days free first

KeyProof is pre-launch and no firm has signed yet, which is what the founding price is for. There is nothing to take on trust: walk the whole thing in the demo.

The prestige treatment

Mark a car prestige, and the product demands more.

The person, matched to their document

The renter photographs their photo ID and takes a live-camera selfie. The identity check is run by Stripe, who hold the document and match the face to it; you see the verified result. On a car worth six figures, "the person collecting is the person who verified" is the single most valuable sentence in the record.

The licence, checked by you on gov.uk

The renter generates a one-time code through the government's own Share Driving Licence service and gives the last 8 of their licence number, and one tap from the booking opens gov.uk with both ready to paste. For a high-powered car the points and disqualification lines matter most, and the government record shows them, not the plastic. How the licence check works.

Nine named photos before it goes out

A prestige hire replaces the freeform photo step with a named set: front, rear, both sides, both alloys, interior, dashboard and odometer, roof. The car cannot be marked out until the set is complete, and the same set is captured again at return, so a kerbed alloy or a new chip is a comparison, not an argument.

Extra terms, initialled before signing

The mileage cap, no track or competition use, the agreed territory, and the renter's liability for the damage excess: on a prestige hire each is a clause the renter initials individually, in the flow, before they can sign your agreement. Recorded on the booking, bound to the verified identity.

The deposit, on the record before the hire

A prestige booking prompts a higher default deposit, which you can always override. The hold sits on your own account; what KeyProof adds is the record of it, amount and date, next to the identity, the agreement and the photos, so the whole position is in one place if the hire goes wrong.

Why prestige fleets

Crash-and-run risk scales with the value of the car.

Prestige hire lives in exactly the economy KeyProof was built for: weekends and weddings booked over Instagram and WhatsApp, keys handed to renters the operator has never met. The difference is the stakes. On a small fleet of high-value cars, one unrecovered vehicle or one uninsurable claim can outweigh a year of margin, and the person planning a crash-and-run picks the firm that checks least. Verification is how a prestige fleet becomes the hardest target on the street without slowing the handover down: the checks happen before arrival, in the chat, and the handover itself is a face check and photos.

Questions prestige operators ask

Supercar hire verification, answered.

Does KeyProof work for supercar and prestige hire fleets?

Yes. Any vehicle on your fleet can be marked prestige, and a prestige hire gets the fuller treatment automatically: a named nine-shot photo set at handover and return, extra initialled terms, and a higher default deposit prompt. The treatment is included on every plan; it is never something you pay extra to switch on.

What does marking a car prestige actually change?

Three things. The condition record becomes a named nine-shot set (front, rear, both sides, both alloys, interior, dashboard and odometer, roof) that must be complete before the car can be marked out, and the same set is captured again at return. The renter must initial extra terms before they can sign: the mileage cap, no track or competition use, the agreed territory, and their liability for the damage excess. And a new prestige booking prompts a higher default deposit, which you can always override. Everything else, the identity check, the licence check and the record, is identical to a standard hire.

Who holds the deposit on a prestige hire?

You do. The deposit is a hold on your own account, between you and the renter under your own agreement. KeyProof records the amount and the date against the booking so the record is complete, and never holds or touches the money itself.

Can KeyProof stop a renter taking the car on a track day?

No software can physically stop a car being driven somewhere. What KeyProof does is put the no-track clause in front of the renter as a term they initial individually, bound to their verified identity, before they can sign. If it happens anyway, you are holding an initialled acknowledgement rather than arguing about what was understood.

Does the renter need to install an app?

No. The whole check-in runs in the renter's phone browser from one link you drop into the Instagram or WhatsApp conversation the booking already happened in. Nothing to install, no account to create.

What does it cost for a prestige fleet?

Plans are banded by fleet size, from £59 a month for up to 5 cars, and every plan includes the full product, prestige treatment included. The renter pays the £4.99 verification fee. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
