Car hire verification

Know who is driving your car, before the keys move.

Verification is three questions answered before a stranger drives away: is this person who they say they are, are they allowed to drive, and what did the car look like when it left. KeyProof asks all three through one link in the chat the booking already happened in, and files the answers as one record per hire.

From £59 a month for up to 5 carsThe renter pays the £4.99 verification feeNo contract, 30 days free first

KeyProof is pre-launch and no firm has signed yet, which is what the founding price is for. There is nothing to take on trust: walk the whole thing in the demo.

What gets verified

Three checks, one link, one record.

The person, matched to their document

The renter photographs their photo ID and takes a live-camera selfie. The document is checked as genuine and the face is matched to it, so the person collecting is the person who verified, not a friend with a borrowed licence.

The licence, checked by you on gov.uk

Not a glance at a plastic card. The renter generates a one-time code through the government's own Share Driving Licence service and gives the last 8 of their licence number, and one tap from the booking opens gov.uk with both ready to paste. Status, categories, points, disqualifications: the government shows you, not us. How the licence check works.

The car, photographed at both ends

Timestamped photos at handover and again at return, on the same record as the signed agreement. "That mark was already there" stops being an argument in either direction. How condition capture works.

Nothing changes about how you sell

The link goes in the Instagram or WhatsApp conversation you are already having. No app for the renter to install, no account to create, and your own agreement and your own deposit throughout.

Where we work

The same everywhere, written for somewhere.

The product works identically wherever you hire from, because it lives in a chat rather than at a counter. What differs is the trouble: PCN exposure, prestige fleets, airport traffic, student turnover. Each page below is written about one place rather than find-and-replaced. London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.

Verify the renter.
Then hand over the keys.

One link before they arrive, one record when it is over, and a name and a date range on every hire you have ever done.

A founding cohort of five firms: £49 a month for life, any fleet size.
