ID matched to a live selfie, a DVLA share code ready for you to check free on gov.uk, your agreement e-signed and the deposit recorded, all from the hirer’s own phone, hours or days before they get near the car.
The handover link has them photograph the car as they collect it, timestamped. A key-safe collection stops being a leap of faith: the condition when the keys moved is on record, though you were asleep.
For in-person handovers you confirm the collector against the verified selfie. For fully remote ones, the liveness check already tied the booking to a real, present person, not a photo of someone else’s ID.
The car comes back to the kerb or the key safe, you photograph it on your own schedule, and the before-and-after record closes the hire with the evidence complete.
